Needed a break so took a two trip to the north coast of Northern Ireland. Headed up the spectacular Antrim coast to Ballycastle, where I nearly broke my neck on slippery pavement, then along to the Causeway. Horrendous wind during the two days, even with a dead cat the audio was unusable.
Visited Portrush but it was getting late and I was tired. Regretted not being able to visit Ballintoy due to roadworks, such a shame.
Although a member of the National trust I still had to pay £10 in order to park at the Causeway Hotel for lunch. The £10 was deducted from my meal cost.
Stayed at the Premier Inn in Coleraine, would normally stay at the Causeway Hotel but the cost has risen remarkably.
Premier Inn is located in a retail park and not in Coleraine itself. Perhaps a brisk 20 min walk along the river Bann to the town. Nonetheless the hotels location provides all you might need from the attached restaurant to Sainsbury’s, LIDL, McDonald’s and many more!!!
