Down at Leith the wind was so strong I could hardly stand but yet I enjoyed being there.<br>It had been decades since my last visit and my memory was of streets filled with lovely shops but things were different now.<br>Normally I would come back to the hotel, wherever I visit, in the evening and head out again to explore at night time. Edinburgh didn\u2019t feel like that so having had dinner I returned to hotel for the evening.<br>Edinburgh Castle was lovely as was Greyfriars and St Giles&#8217; Cathedral. Museum of Scotland was fantastic as was National Galleries.<br>Royal mile was, for me, disappointing with all those repetitive souvenirs shops selling the same overpriced items.<br>One highlight was a visit to Scottish Parliament where I spent some time listening to a debate on the hospitality businesses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My visit to Edinburgh was fine but little more than that due to the weather.
