Visit to Newcastle Co Down and the Slieve Donard hotel.
September 2021, paid a visit to the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle County Down. Its a lovely hotel with the town on its doorstep meaning the visitor is not restricted to what the hotel has to offer.
The town has a number of excellent restaurants, bars, coffee shops and the essential ice cream shops.
The main feature of hotel and town are the imposing Mourne Mountains which provide a spectacular backdrop, also nearby is the Tollymore forest park. Car entrance fee is £5 but be aware that sat nav instructions are wrong, follow the signs as you approach the park.
